Statement of Faith

THE SCRIPTURES INSPIRED

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God, given to us by the Holy Spirit through men.  As such it is thoroughly accurate, reliable and authoritative; beyond all human statements in all theology, doctrine, and faith as well as science and history.

THE ONE TRUE GOD

We believe that the one true God, referred to in the Holy Bible, has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed  "I AM"  by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Ref: (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12;29; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; 1John 5:7)

MAN: HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION

We believe man was created good and upright; for God said, "Let us make man in our image and after our likeness."  But man, by voluntary transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Ref: (Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 3:17; Romans5:12-21)

THE SALVATION OF MAN

We believe that salvation is not the result of any human effort but by faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone.  This sole act of faith results in a person becoming a child of God.

Ref: (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12)

BAPTISM IN WATER

We believe the ordinance of baptism signifying death, burial and resurrection with Jesus Christ, should be observed  (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that in their hearts have believed in Christ as their Savior and Lord.  In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been released to walk with Him in newness of life.

Ref: (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:36-38; Romans 6:4)

THE LORD'S SUPPER (COMMUNION)

The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing in a memorial to His suffering and death, the prophecy of His second coming and His enjoinment to all believers "until He comes".

Ref: (John 6:48,51,53-57;  Luke 22:19-20;  1Corinithians 11:25;  Matthew 26:29)

THE CHURCH

We believe the church is the Holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit.  Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.  All New Testament believers have Unity in the Church which is the Body of Christ.

MINISTRY

Divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry (of which we are all a part of) has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose; (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) the edification of the body of Christ.  We believe that functions/directives are ordained in scripture, as an example: preaching and teaching, and must be adhered to; but that forms/methodologies may be formed to meet the needs of the culture in which we live.

Ref: (Matthew 28:19-20;  1Corinthians 12:1-13;  1Corinthinans 14:26-34;  Ephesians 4:11-13;  1Timothy 5:17;  II Timothy 3:6)

THE BLESSED HOPE

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive, to remain with the Lord forever, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the church.

Ref: (II Corinthians 5:6-9; Philippians 1:21-24;  I Thessalonians 4:16;  Romans 6:23;  Titus 2:13; I Corinthians 15:51, 52)

THE SECURITY OF THE SAINTS

All who are truly born again are kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ.

Ref: (John 10:28-29;  Philippians 1:6;  Romans 8:35-39)
